Nimue - September 1

Fantasia tried to cut out the infestation, but ended up stabbing him in the shoulder instead. Anister grabbed Fantasia's dagger and cut one grub out. I tried to cast sleep, but it didn't do anything. Bancroft healed himself to hopefully survive the attempts to get the grubs out of him. Fantasia grabbed the torch and burned out some grubs. Anister applied the dagger again and got the remaining grubs out. Anister thought, after all that trauma to Bancroft, that we should go back in and loot where the grubs were. We all told him to take the torch and go in himself if he wanted to risk the remaining grubs on the floor. We talked him into going to town and buying oil first to torch the room.

At the doorway to the main hallway, I opened the door onto three zombies. Who oddly didn't attack. We backed out of the way to see if they'd walk past. They stayed put. I figured they wanted the urn, but didn't know we had it. Fantasia wall climbed past them, and they didn't follow her. Anister tried to get one to move so we could walk past, but it just stared at him. He put a black robe on and they followed him. We ran past and Anister tried to get them to guard so we could get up the rope, but they attacked him instead when he dropped the hood. Fantasia tried to climb the rope but fell and crumpled unconscious on the ground. I hit the closest with a purple magic missile and killed one.

One clawed me. Anister shot it through the head. Bancroft and I finished off the remaining one. We turned Fantasia over, but she was dead by the time we got to her. Odd duck, that one, but the dragon suit was super cute. Bancroft stripped off his armor to climb the rope. I tied the rope ladder to the rope so the rest of us could climb up after. We got back to town in time for dinner. Anister met an elf named Charlotte who was a roustabout. She used to be a baker. I'd have stayed a baker if I was lucky enough to be a baker, not come to this hellhole. We invited her to join our group.

The jar turned out to have a brain in it. Anister didn't want to sleep with it understandably, and since Mazzah wasn't interested, he put it on the roof outside his window. It was gone in the morning. He thought a bird took it, from the tracks. We're relieved to have it gone.

But, note to self, some of the undead will respond to commands if you wear a black robe. We may be able to order them away to the pit or something.
